Independent Opera recognised at the 2016 International Opera Awards

We’re thrilled to announce that our 2015 Director Fellow, Max Hoehn,  was nominated in the Young Director category at this year’s International Opera Awards for his production of Biedermann and the Arsonists.

Joining Max Hoehn at the International Opera Awards, co-founders and patrons of Independent Opera, Bill and Judy Bollinger, were last night announced as the 2016 Philanthropists of the Year.

Our first Wigmore Hall/IO Voice Fellow from 2007, Matthew Rose, was nominated in the CD (Operatic Recital) category.

Current postgraduate Voice Fellow, Gyula Rab, and 2008 Voice Fellow, Kirstin Sharpin are both 2015 bursary recipients from the International Opera Awards Foundation.
