Independent Opera announce its 2016-2017 Vocal Scholars and Postgraduate Fellows

We are pleased to announce that Katie Lowe will join Milan Siljanov as an Independent Opera Postgraduate Voice Fellow for 2016.

Katie has recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) after studying for an RNCM International Artist Diploma with Susan Roper. Prior to this, Katie studied at the Royal College of Music and Cardiff International Academy of Voice, and completed her MA in advanced vocal studies at the Wales International Academy of Voice.

Katie will perform the title role in Suor Angelica with the Manchester Ensemble in December 2016. 

Milan Siljanov was announced as an Independent Opera Postgraduate Voice Fellow for 2016-17 in March 2016, following his success at the 2015 Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song Competition.

Milan has recently joined the Young Artist Programme at the Bayerisches Staatstheater München.

The Independent Opera Postgraduate Voice Fellowship is an annual award which offers the recipient funding of £5,000 per annum for singing lessons, coaching sessions, accompaniment and professional development.

 

Independent Opera is also delighted to announce the recipients of the Independent Opera Voice Scholarship for 2016. Each award provides funding of £5,000 towards the singers’ tuition fees.

Samantha Clarke (Soprano) – Royal Northern College of Music

Katie Coventry (Mezzo Soprano) – Royal College of Music

Charlie Drummond (Soprano) – Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

Nika Gorič (Soprano) – Royal Academy of Music

Jade Moffat (Mezzo Soprano) – Guildhall School of Music and Drama
