Alumni News | Catriona Morison wins BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2017

Independent Opera alumni, Catriona Morison wins the main prize at BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2017.

Congratulations to Catriona on her wonderful performance at the finals of both the Main Prize and Song Prize of BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2017. Catriona was also the joint winner of the BBC Singer of the World Song Prize. 

Catriona was a recipient of an IO Postgraduate Voice Fellowship in 2013, which supported her professional development after graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. To watch her performance, head over to BBC iPlayer for clips and footage from the event.

We would also like to congratulate Louise Alder (IO Fellow 2013), who won the Audience Prize and was a finalist in the Song Prize, and Kang Wang (IO Fellow 2014) who was a finalist in the Main Prize.
