We are pleased to present Polly Graham as the INDEPENDENT OPERA Director Fellow for 2016.
After a rigorous six-month selection process in 2014, INDEPENDENT OPERA announced Polly Graham as the winner of its 2016 Director Fellowship. This award, now in its second year and the largest of Independent Opera’s annual fellowships, is valued at £300,000 inclusive of a £15,000 director’s stipend.
IO’s 2016 Director Fellowship will enable Polly Graham to stage the UK première of Karl Hartmann’s Simplicius Simplicissimus at the Lilian Baylis Studio, Sadler’s Wells, in November 2016. She will additionally receive mentoring from directors Stephen Medcalf and David Pountney, and at Welsh National Opera.
“I am delighted to have been given this award. It’s a great opportunity for me to develop my practice and keep learning from fantastic, experienced directors, such as David Pountney and Stephen Medcalf, whose mentorship is invaluable.” Polly Graham, Director Fellow 2016
