About the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s MMus (Opera) is first-rate training for the operatic stage. Housed in the magnificent facilities of the purpose-built Alexander Gibson Opera School, it attracts singers from all over the world to study on a degree programme which guarantees solo performance experience appropriate to the each type and maturity of voice. Weekly individual singing lessons and coaching lessons are given a high priority. Public workshop presentations of opera scenes are given in the studio theatre within the Alexander Gibson Opera School and students may also be invited to take part in fully-staged Royal Conservatoire productions. The Royal Conservatoire and Scottish Opera work together for one major production each year in a unique and unparalleled collaboration. Previous productions have included Prokofiev's War and Peace and The Lovefor Three Oranges and in January 2011 the chosen work was Janáček's Cunning Little Vixen.
