Reaching out to other organisations…
Realising the benefits of co-operation and relationships with like-minded organisations, INDEPENDENT OPERA at Sadler's Wells joined patronage programmes and fostered ties with music organisations in the UK. Many of these companies possess a certain synergy with Independent Opera, focusing on the development of young artists. We are pleased to provide links to the following organisations with whom Independent Opera has been associated.
Classical Opera Company
The Classical Opera Company, founded in 1997 by conductor and artistic director Ian Page, is devoted to performing the works of Mozart and his contemporaries. It combines fidelity to the classical age with a commitment to making performances dynamic and enlightening for modern audiences.
The company is emerging as one of the country’s most highly regarded young musical organisations, and has quickly established an outstanding reputation, not only for the quality of its performances but also for the excellence of its casting and its imaginative programming and presentation.
European Union Youth Orchestra
The European Union Youth Orchestra exists to unite Europe's most talented young musicians under internationally renowned conductors in an ensemble that transcends cultural, social, economic, religious and political boundaries - all in the common pursuit of musical excellence.
Opera Europa
Opera Europa is the leading service organization for professional opera companies and opera festivals throughout Europe. It currently serves 105 member companies from 33 different countries. Its main office is in Brussels, where it is registered as a cultural organization in compliance with Belgian law.
Opera Europa specialises in advocating the international dimension of opera. Its new dynamic offers all opera companies and festivals the ideal international platform for public information and presentation.
London Handel Society
The Royal Philharmonic Society
Founded in 1813, The Royal Philharmonic Society's extraordinary history of music-making includes the commissioning of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony. Today we are an active membership society and independent charity, working to create a future for classical music. We provide opportunities for today's composers, nurture young musicians, reward excellence and engage with audiences so that future generations will enjoy a rich and vibrant musical life.

Second Movement
Second Movement, founded in 2004, is regarded as one of the most exciting new opera companies working in the UK today. A London-based company, it eschews traditional venues in favour of site-specific productions in English which engage with younger audiences. Specialising in little-known one-act repertoire, Second Movement has won national plaudits for its imaginative programming and bold, non-traditional productions - where a stylish and innovative aesthetic is matched by the youth and ambition of its talented artists, musicians and creative team.
